The Stadtwerke Weiden i. d. OPf.

No one can imagine day-to-day life any longer without the Stadtwerke Weiden as a reliable local energy supplier. For more than 100 years,  they have provided gas and water to households in Weiden and the surrounding area. They also regulate wastewater disposal. As of October 1, 2011, the Stadtwerke Weiden will also provide electric power.

With the Freizeitzentrum Weiden, the Stadtwerke also operate the Weidener Hot Springs World and the indoor ice rink. The Stadtwerke Weiden are owned and operated by the City of Weiden.

Natural gas

Natural gas is eco-friendly, affordable and convenient: Approx. 10,000 household connections in and around Weiden are supplied safely and reliably with this fossil fuel by the Stadtwerke Weiden i. d. OPf.  

Water

The citizens of Weiden consume almost three million liters of water each year: The Stadtwerke Weiden i. d. OPf are in charge of supplying fresh, clear and pure drinking water – and that for the past 117 years.

In the Weidener wastewater treatment plant, contaminated water is purified and recycled. More than 280 km of mixed-water, contaminated-water and rainwater channels ensure that contaminated water is received by the wastewater treatment plant on a street by the name of Reiterweg.

New: Electricity – simple, safe and fast

Starting on Oct. 1, 2011, you can procure electric power directly from the Stadtwerke Weiden – at long-term affordable conditions which benefit all involved: For your wallet, the region and the environment.

With our new natural power for citizens of the region (gained from renewable energy sources), we are taking a step towards a responsible energy future. At the same time, with our new offering, we maintain jobs here, in this region.

The Freizeitzentrum Weiden

The Hot Springs World and the indoor ice rink form the Freizeitzentrum Weiden. In addition to attractions for young and old, the Weidener Hot Springs World offers a great deal of space for relaxation - in the  sauna and wellness area. The indoor ice rink has a total ice area of 2800 m² in the indoor and outdoor area.
